About Me

Bonjour 👋
I’m Swati Rastogi, a French coach with over 8 years of online teaching experience.
French Should Feel Alive™ 🇫🇷

I help learners experience French through immersive communication, confidence-building activities, pronunciation practice, storytelling, and curiosity-driven learning.

My goal is simple:
to make French feel less stressful and more alive.

MY STORY

From Memorization to Meaningful Communication

A Curious Child Who Wanted to Understand

As a child, I was extremely curious and always wanted to understand how things worked.

But during my school years, there were many moments when learning became more about memorization than understanding. Sometimes even adults around me could not explain certain concepts deeply, and the easiest answer was often:

“Just mug it up.”

Over time, I developed a strong memory and naturally became good at helping others remember things too.

My Sister’s Creativity Shaped Me

My elder sister explored many creative courses — painting, fashion designing, home science, nursery teachers’ training, and computer classes.

Even though she eventually left many of them midway because perfection-driven environments bored her, her creativity deeply influenced me.

Whatever she learned, she brought home — and I absorbed everything with excitement.

I often told her: “Teach me whatever you learned today before you forget.”

Looking back, I feel a lot of my online creativity today was inspired by her offline creativity.

My Fascination With Technology & Creativity

When computers entered our lives, I became deeply fascinated by technology.

Simple things like: • MS Word
• PowerPoint
• Visual Basic
• animations
• experimenting on computers

excited me immensely.

I could spend hours completely absorbed in creating and experimenting.

Later, I pursued Psychology Honours, a Postgraduate Diploma in English & Communication Studies, and eventually a 3D animation course where I explored: • Photoshop
• CorelDRAW
• Flash
• 3D Max
• storytelling
• visual creativity

How French Changed My Journey

French entered my life through my professor, late Dr. Sheela Karki.

What inspired me most was that she didn’t teach French only as grammar.

She spoke about: • culture
• communication
• lifestyle
• French cars
• and real-life experiences

For the first time, language felt alive to me.

That immersive approach deeply shaped the way I teach today.

Why I Teach French Differently

Today, all my experiences — psychology, communication, technology, storytelling, creativity, animation, visual learning, and curiosity —

come together in the way I teach French.

I believe language learning should feel: alive, immersive, confidence-building, creative, and emotionally engaging.

Because French is not just a subject to study.

It is a language to experience. ✨
